About
The Izuba Washing Station sources its coffee from three surrounding hills: Kigeri, Ryamukona, and Mugoyi. These areas serve as key collection points for cherries delivered to the station. Each batch of cherries is carefully tracked by both the producer and the hillside, allowing for detailed insight into the subtle differences in flavour profiles from each location. In 2020, we worked with 1,482 farmers—1,169 men and 313 women (about 26% female producers)—and processed 453,000kg of cherries, though the station's full capacity is 800,000kg.
