Agua Sarca
Agua Sarca is a family-owned farm nestled at 1200–1400 masl and managed by Isacio Javier Albir Vílchez, who has cared for it for over 30 years. Spanning 76 hectares, the farm is rich in biodiversity, cultivating a range of coffee varieties like maracaturra, geisha, and catuai. Shade trees and eco-friendly farming practices, including low-intensity pesticides and a mix of organic and synthetic fertilisers, ensure a sustainable ecosystem.
Harvesting runs from November to March, focusing on perfectly ripe cherries. After handpicking, the cherries are floated, packed, and sent to the dry mill, where they’re dried on African beds, rested, and carefully sorted for export.
Agua Sarca employs 25 permanent workers and 60 seasonal pickers, supporting the local community by funding education projects and paying farmers based on coffee quality, fostering a culture of excellence.
